Intro:

There are many voices saying that domain flipping is easiest way to make money but I couldn't agree with that and hope you'll share my opinion after reading this post. I chose to write on this theme even though I do not have sufficient knowledge in this area.

Domain Flipping is trading with domains, simply said. All you need to do is buy a domain for small amount and sell it for larger amount of money. Many think it is easy to do. But after they purchased a pile of domains they realize it's not easy like it looks. Of course, domain flipping could be worth to you, but you need a lot of knowledge, patience, fortune.

Domain flipping was a real boom back in 90s. This period could be called a golden age for domain trading since there were a lot of good and free domains to buy and trade with. Predicted value for some domains were 100 times larger and this is a reason why there are no good and free domains :-). Nowadays domain flipping is still very popular since there are 50-90 thousands of domains bought daily.

In order to show you that this activity could pay off I'll show you list of domains sold for incredible amount of money.

I should also explain what is a domain. It seems a little stupid, but I guess that most of them who start with online marketing don't know real meaning of it. Domain is server address on Internet. Since every domain and every IP address is unique, you can only register one for whole world.

Why is so important to check domains that are expiring? If you notice good domain that will soon expire you will have the opportunity to buy it before others and make a lot of money that way. Here are some of the places where you can check domain expiring date and places for buying expired domains:

Good name can have good price, too. Also, your domain should have these characteristics:

1.Short name

If specific domain is shorter, the better it is. Unfortunately, most of short domain names are already bought. Therefore, when you are buying a domain, try to choose between 5 and 10 letters. Here is a good example from which you can understand.

ProQuotesNow.com is average domain and doesn't have much value so it could be a good solution

2. Easy to remember

For example hkqra.com is short name for domain but hard to remember and have no meaning, while sex.com is easy to remember and worth a millions, of course

3. Easy for writing

You want your domain to be easy for writing. Avoid extraordinary words or symbols, awkward letter combinations and words pronounced hardly.

1. Avoid banned and blacklisted domains. How to check if domain is banned?

a) if domain do not have PR (Page rank) it is probably banned(not necessary, but possible)

b) no results in Google or other search engine

2. Avoid trademarked domain names. If you buy trademark domain, you could be sued and paid a big penalty.

3. Avoid buying of large number of domains at once. It's enough to buy 10 domains per day. If you buy large amount of domains at same time, you will probably not be able to sell all of them.

4. Avoid buying a domain that end with .net, .info, .mobi or similar extensions. They are not worthless but will have smaller price when selling in regard to .com

5. Avoid domains that sound cool to you. Do keyword and profitability research before making  a decision.

I will represent 2 ways how to find profitable domain name.

First way is to go to https://flippa.com/just-sold and find domain that had a lot of offers recently. Take domain name and paste it into Google keyword tool in order to check and analyze monthly visits

Other way requires registering on http://www.justdropped.com/ for $25 per month subscription. After you complete registration you will be able to make a list of words included in your domains. You will receive emails with lists of expired domains for words you wanted to use. All you need to do is to use Google keyword tool in order to analyze desired domain
